(NASB) Matthew 5:29 "If your right eye makes you stumble, tear it out and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.
30 "If your right hand makes you stumble, cut it off and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to go into hell.
This was Jesus speaking to the Crowds in the Sermon on the Mount. He had just gone through the Beatitudes which probably turned everyone on their ears. And then He said that just following the 10 Commandments to the letter was not good enough, it's really about the heart of the matter.
Now Jesus tells us that it is better to live this life mamed than to go to Hell. That makes sense to me, Hell for eternity sounds like a bad deal in comparison with blindness or a disability. But Jesus had more meeting there, I think. I believe that if anything is holding you back from ministry, you need to do away with it. We are here as servants to the Most High God. There is nothing more important than that. Abraham, by faith, had Isaac on the alter ready to sacrifice him because God told him to. What do you need to get rid of today for God's glory?
For Him,
