Manna...as a midnight snack

(NASB) 2Timothy 4:1 I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to  judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: 2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season;  reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great  patience and instruction. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, 4 and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.

Paul's final advise to his beloved Timothy was to just do it. He had a calling that was not dependent on who would listen, most would not...to be diligent AND patient. That is a tough thing for me. I want microwave results, but recall chapter 1 verse 7, the Spirit can make us bold, disciplined and loving because others will not want to hear the true Gospel, but will seek out something less. When we look for less Gospel we get nothing, we're all in or all out. The assurance of Heaven isn't a timeshare that we hit a couple weeks a year. All you have then is just enough religion to be miserable and I believe that is the state of many souls in the pews on Sunday.

Let Christ overcome you and just do it, be bold and loving and do whatever he asks this week.

Many blessings,
Steve
