Manna - May 28

> Good morning,
>
> First, I apologize for the length of this...
>
> Over the last several months, being over extended in about every way, my daily quiet time with my Lord has not been as regular as I need. I have this inner prompting to be more submitted, to do something greater, to fulfill HIS purpose in my life and everything that I have been doing has taken the joy out of my life.
>
> I believe Solomon said it best in the book of Proverbs 27:17 Iron sharpens iron,
> and one man sharpens another.
>
> So I need something from each of the the people receiving this email and that is to simply hold be accountable to my daily quiet time by simply checking to see that you have received an email with this title every morning. I hope it becomes more than that, but if that is tthe result, He will be glorified.
>
> I am not sure where the Lord will lead me as far as content, but in the email, I will let you know what the Lord has shown me in the text that day, changes I need to make or even prayer requests.
>
> Over the last several days, I have been listening to a preacher named Matt Chandler from the Village Church in Tx. His two sermons on the Pastoral Prayers have impacted me greatly. I have listened to them each multiple times. Prayer 1 was that we would understand that the biggest problem that we face as a church is not a problem of morality, but a problem of honoring God with what he gives us.
>
> Using Romans 1:21 ESV For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they obecame futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.
> 24 Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, 25 because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.
>
> He spoke about professional athletes who bring glory to themselves by celebrating after they do something impressive atheletically, when they had nothing to do with getting their athletic gifts. Others who have wealth from a God given ability to run a business. Or many different gifts that each of us need to use to the benefit of the kingdom of God.
>
> The Pharisees had the morality thing nailed, the memorized the first 5 books of the Bible, prayed often, cleansed themselves before eating, observed the sabath, but these are the people that killed Jesus. They did not honor God, they took His glory for themselves. The tried to own something that they had nothing to do with. They were of a people chosen of God. We're a people chosen of God and yet we all fall morally.
>
> I am truely blessed in innumerable ways, I have done nothing to deseerve what I have been given, I simply want the Lord to use me up for His glory, for Him to increase my affection for Him and always give Him the Glory for His good works.
