(ESV) Hebrews 12:14 Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. 15 See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no "root of bitterness" springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled;

This is a great leadership lesson. It points to actively engaging with someone who is down hearted or feels stepped on, otherwise you will have to deal with many other issues. I have dealt with that situation and most of the time it deals with procrastination. No one wants to deal with a challenging issue with someone else, but it is just a matter of time before you will have more to deal with. The root of bitterness is infectious and it will reach much farther than you imagine.
