Wisdom for the New Year

As we enter into the what can be a new beginning, January 1, 2012, It seemed good to me to read through Proverbs.

The wisdom contained in that book never fails to bare fruit in my life.

We will be looking at a chapter a day....

Isaiah 1:
           2       To know wisdom and instruction, to understand words of insight,
           3       to receive instruction in wise dealing, in righteousness, justice, and equity;
           4       to give prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the youth—
           5       Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance,
           6       to understand a proverb and a saying, the words of the wise and their riddles.
           7       The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.

The Holy Bible: English Standard Version. 2001 (Pr 1:2–7).

We all, at our core, think we have all of the answers or have the ability to figure them out. Too many times we fail to ask for instruction or advise and make poor decisions.

THe idea that I had in starting a blog called Joy Journal was that the Bible delivers us wise advice that ultimately brings joy into our advise.

Sinful decision may passify for the short term, but just as with a baby, you end up still hungry.

Let us each consider how limited we are and how great God is in this New Year and seek His teaching and wisdom.

For Him,
Steve
