Proverbs 3:5-8 ESV
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.
After the last few years, we all could use some refreshment! If we put our faith in the stock market, we've been disappointed. Faith in real estate has proved to be false. But the Lord is always faithful to our trusting Him.
But in order to enter into this refreshment, we have to give up....give up our good ideas for the best ideas. Seeking his will for our lives rather than the "American dream" Honoring Him rather than seeking our glory.
None of this is easy, but the healing and refreshment is worth it...we need to step down from the throne of our life and allow the one who made us, to control who we become.
